They split up in their religion, as Allaah, the Most High, has said (what means): ( Each sect rejoicing with that they had ) [30:32]. Similar were their worldly affairs. They believed that to be the correct way.
So He legislated unity in the Religion with His Statement (that means): ( He legislated from the Religion what He prescribed for Nooh (Noah), what was revealed to you, and what was prescribed for Ibraaheem (Abraham), Moosaa (Moses), and ‘Eesaa (Jesus): that you establish the Religion and do not split up within it. ) [42:12]
And He, the Most High, has said (what means): ( Verily those who split up their religion and became sects, you have nothing whatsoever to do with them. ) [6:159] He also prohibited us from imitating them, with His Statement (which means): ( Do not be like those who split up and differed after the clear proofs came to them. ) [3:105] He also forbade us from splitting up in worldly matters with His Statement (that means): ( Hold tight to the rope of Allaah, all of you together, and do not be divided. ) [3:103]
