we remind the guardians of women such as a father or a husband or a brother, due to the fact that (the Prophet) (‘alayhi ssalaat wa ssalaam) said: ‘Everyone of you is a shepherd and everyone of you is responsible for his flock. So the man is a shepherd and he is responsible for his flock-’[1] to the end of the hadeeth. Thus, the Arabic or general proverb states: ‘The horse is from the horseman.’ So you, the husband of the woman, it is not permissible for you to allow her to go out in this manner which puts to trial the middle-aged men, let alone the young men! And you, O man, O father, O brother, are supposed to be very jealous. Why? Because the Prophet (sallAllaahu ‘alayhi wa aalihi wa sallam) used to say: ‘duyyooth will not enter Paradise.’[2] Why? Who is a duyyooth? He is the one who does not guard his womenfolk jealously.”

Al-Bukhaari (1240) and Muslim (2162) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say:

The rights of one Muslim over another are five: returning the greeting of salaam, visiting the sick, attending funerals, accepting invitations, and saying yarhamuk Allah (may Allah have mercy on you) to one who sneezes.”

And Muslim (2162) narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said:

“The rights of one Muslim over another are six.” It was said: What are they, O Messenger of Allaah? He said:“If you meet him, greet him with salaam; if he invites you, accept the invitation; if he asks for advice, give him sincere advice; if he sneezes and praises Allaah, say Yarhamuk Allaah (may Allaah have mercy on you); if he falls sick, visit him; and if he dies, attend his funeral.”

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

The brother began with Khutbatul Hajjah

“The prophet SalAllaahu alayhe wa salam said “Indeed all of you are Shepards and every Shepard will be questioned about its flock..”

If you wish to be from amongst those who’s dua is accepted then you should listen and reflect upon that which is present in this hadith :

“Whoever takes care of his brother/sister, Allaah takes care of his/her needs..”

“Whomsoever removes a hardship from his brother/sister, then Allah will remove a hardship from the hardships on the day of judgement”

Indeed the hardships are many and you will remove that burden, you will aid that sister, even if its moral support or advice in accordance to Quran and Sunnah, when people are overcome by the burdens of Yomil Qiyamah, and when people are sweating and in fear and when the relatives who knew each other in the dunya – you will see the reward and benefit of removing burdens of your sister.

The prophet said SalAllaahu alayhe wa salam “Whoever covers a Muslim, Allaah will cover them on Yomil Qiyamah.”

Know my sisters Yomil Qiyamah from its affairs – is the day of regret! The day people will regret everything they did in the dunya, some people will be exposed, with all of that hiding and a good job of doing the unknown hidden – they will be exposed! I’m sure there are characteristics we all wish to hide from the people – from the affairs that will aid us in achieving the covering for us – is that we cover the faults of our brothers and sisters in this dunya.

I know its not easy…some people have to tell somebody! Some people have to inform about this whopping news! Some people make it their mission to inform the dunya! If that is the case then giving tidings of being exposed yomil qiyama! But if you wish your faults to be covered then just as the prophet Sallahu alayhe wa salam said “whoever Exposes the sin of a person, then Allaah will expose him even in his home..”

The affair is one which is shadeed!

Its effect that it had on the companions they understood and were nurtured upon having that strong desire, not just brotherhood in words or slogan, but true brotherhood.

Masruq mentioned “It used to be said to sit with people of deen removes from the heart – the darkness of sin..” He should strive to accompany those upon good.

The good sister – as Masruq said if you don’t need to accompany her, you will not receive harm from them.

The people of bida, are worse than accompanying fornicators, and worse than accompanying the drug dealers!!!

Who are your brothers and sisters ? Those who cooperate upon the commandments of Allaah, even if their bodies and lands are separate. That indicates they have love for one another.

Abu Hatim ar Razee’ mentioned: “Indeed from the greatest signs of that which a person upon, either being one who changes in his deen or one who is firmly established : is that a person reflects upon the one he takes as his companions, because a man is upon the deen of his friends and birds of a feather flock together..”

And that then is a comprehensive statement !! And each of us should reflect upon this and then think about the friends we have.

Ask about the friends, not the people!
Who are his/her companions?
Who does she associate with?
What type of character does she have?
How are they known? For righteousness ? Or for good?
Or are they known for destroying families? Or for destroying relationships? Those who have fought tongues and love to get themselves verbally in peoples situations – to cause harm, almost as though its a Favourite pastime of theirs, or is that YOU maybe?!?

Each and everyone of us should reflect upon ourselves, our character and how we are to our companions.
We should be that individual, who the Salaf used to be like. If its evil then it will not return back to us except its evil in the dunya. That which is evil doesn’t attract other than evil and evil doesn’t bring about nothing but evil!

May Allaah tabarakawata’ala bless the duaat for their efforts.

Please circulate and forward to your fellow sisters so that they may benefit, May Allaah ‘Azzawa Jalla bless us all with beneficial knowledge, righteous action and understanding of this pure religion.

Abu Dharr al-Ghifārī said that the Messenger of Allāh (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:

“The seven heavens in comparison to the Kursī is nothing but like a ring thrown in a desert, and the excellence of the ʽArsh (Throne of Allāh) over the Kursī is like the excellence of that desert over that ring.”
