What Has Been Said About Fortune-tellers and Their Like
Muslim has narrated, on the authority of one of the wives of the Prophet (Hafsah – may Allah be pleased with her), that Allah’s Prophet said:
“Whoever went to a fortune-teller and asked him about some matter (i.e. of the unseen) and believed him, will have his prayer rejected for forty days.”

73. Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) during the sermon of the Farewell Pilgrimage saying, ”Be mindful of your duty to Allah; perform your five daily Salat, observe Saum during the month (of Ramadan) , pay the Zakat on your properties and obey your leaders; (if you do so) you will enter the Jannah of your Rubb”.
[At-Tirmidhi].Commentary: The word Wada`, means to say farewell. The Farewell Pilgrimage was the last pilgrimage, the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) performed, and on this occasion he bade farewell to the people and for this reason it came to be known as Hajjat-ul-Wada`. Obedience of the rulers is stressed but it is conditional, that is to say, they are to be obeyed only if their orders are not against the injunctions of Allah. Similarly, their obedience is obligatory till such time that they do not do anything which amounts to open disbelief. If any of these two things occurs, then no obedience would be due to them.

Guidelines In Islam For The Woman – Abdur-Razzaq ibn Abdil-Muhsin Al-Badr – Abu Muhammad al-Maghribee [Audio|En]
Khutbah – Guidelines In Islam For The Woman
This Friday Khutbah was given at Masjid At-Tawheed in Stone Mountain, GA.
This was taken from one of the khutab of our noble sheikh Abdur-Razzaq ibn Abdil-Muhsin Al-Badr. You can find the original audio and transcription here:صيانة الإسلام للمرأة
These are beautiful guidelines that every Muslim woman should adhere to. They do not oppress her nor do they take her freedom, as some foolish people claim. Rather they are legislated by Allahu subhaanahu wa ta’aala to preserve and protect the precious and priceless gem that is the Muslim woman.

Study with the Scholars
Shaykh Hasan ibn Abdul Wahhab Marzooq al-Banna
[Audio|Arabic-English]
A individual should sit at the hands of the scholars who have firm understanding of the religion, this is how he will learn from Quran and Sunnah. He should take knowledge from them and be patient with the knowledge he gets from them. It is incumbent on a individual that he has a reference that he refers too; he should refer to the scholars.

~ Commanding the Good and Forbidding the Evil – Abu Hafsah Kashiff Khan [Audio|Ar-En]
Commanding the Good and Forbidding the Evil
Abu Hafsah Kashiff Khan (hafidhahullaah)
[Audio|Arabic-English]
The prophets and messengers were the leaders in commanding the good and forbidding the evil. With the passing away of the prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam), this affair was left to the Ummah of Muhammad (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam)

Allaah, the Exalted, says:
“Let there arise out of you a group of people inviting to all that is good (Islam), enjoining Al-Ma`ruf (i.e., Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do) and forbidding Al-Munkar (polytheism and disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden). And it is they who are the successful.” (3:104)
“You (true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) and his Sunnah) are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma`ruf (i.e., Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden)”. (3:110)
“The believers, men and women, are Auliya’ (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another; they enjoin (on the people) Al-Ma`ruf (i.e., Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam orders one to do), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e., polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden)”. (9:71)
“Those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of Dawud (David) and `Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary). That was because they disobeyed (Allah and the Messengers) and were ever transgressing beyond bounds. They used not to forbid one another from the Munkar (wrong, evildoing, sins, polytheism, disbelief) which they committed. Vile indeed was what they used to do”. (5:78,79)
Nu`man bin Bashir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said,
“The likeness of the man who observes the limits prescribed by Allah and that of the man who transgresses them is like the people who get on board a ship after casting lots. Some of them are in its lower deck and some of them in its upper (deck). Those who are in its lower (deck), when they require water, go to the occupants of the upper deck, and say to them : `If we make a hole in the bottom of the ship, we shall not harm you.’ If they (the occupants of the upper deck) leave them to carry out their design they all will be drowned. But if they do not let them go ahead (with their plan), all of them will remain safe”.
